Margit Messel houses is a former German canoeist.

Sports career

Messel houses comes from Augsburg and launched in canoe slalom kayak in the discipline for the Augsburg Kayak Club and reached its greatest successes mid -1980s. In the Canoe Slalom World Championships in 1985 in her hometown, she won the gold medal in the individual competition and the silver medal in the team competition with Gabi Schmid and Ulla Steinle. At the World Championships in 1987 in the French Bourg -Saint -Maurice she managed the team world champion title with Elisabeth Micheler and Ulla Steinle. In addition, it was established in 1985 and 1991 German Champion in one kayak. In 1986, she also won the " Sportswoman of the Year" by the city of Augsburg.
