María Corina Machado

María Corina Machado Parisca ( born October 7, 1967 in Caracas ) is a Venezuelan politician.

Life

Machado is the founder of the NGO Súmate ( Spanish for " Join ", Association for the Advancement of Constitution and Democracy ) free exercise of political rights and civil rights.

Published in 2004, Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez documents that showed the National Endowment for Democracy (NED ) funded civil associations in the country as Súmate, as well as the tripling of these grants of $ 250,000 to 0.9 million 2000 USD / 2001. Maria Corina Machado, Alejandro Plaz, and other members were accused of accepting these funds to influence voters for the re-election referendum in 2004 by the Chavez government of treason and conspiracy.
