Maria de Abarca

María de Abarca (also María Francisca de Abarca; † around 1656) was a Spanish painter.

A native of Aragon Maria de Abarca married the painter Francisco Luis Climens, Lord of Baubin who gave her to his professional field lessons. She was in the middle of the 17th century in Madrid and was also active as a poet. Especially her miniatures and portraits were highly recognized; as they paid tribute to some of the Spanish painter and writer José García Hidalgo in his Principios para estudiar el arte de la pintura nobilísimo (Madrid, 1691) praises.
