Maria Eugénia Martins de Nazaré Ribeiro

Maria Eugenia de Nazaré Martins Ribeiro ( b. 1956 ) is a Portuguese lawyer and a judge at the Court of the European Union.

Martins de Nazare Ribeiro completed her studies in Lisbon, Brussels and Strasbourg. She worked as a lawyer in Portugal and Belgium. A research period she spent at the Université Libre de Bruxelles at the Institut d' études européennes.

From 1986 to 2000 she was a Legal Secretary at the Court Moitinho de Almeida in Portugal and from 2000 to 2003 Legal Officer at Bo Vesterdorf, President of the " Court of First Instance of the European Communities " (since 2009 " Court of the European Union ").

On 31 March 2003 she was a judge at the Court of First Instance; their term of office was extended in 2004 to 31 August 2010. Their term of office in 2010 was again extended until 31 August 2016.
