Maria Neustift

Maria Neustift is a municipality with 1612 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Steyr-Land in Upper Austria. The church was originally part of the judicial district Weyer, since 1 January 2014, the community is part of the judicial district of Steyr.

Geography

Maria Neustift is located in Traun quarter. The extension is from north to south 11 km, from west to east 10.5 km. 32.2 % of the area is forested, 62.6% used for agriculture.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality " Austria above the Enns".
