Maria Occhipinti

Maria Occhipinti ( born 1921 in Ragusa, Italy; † 20 August 1996) was an Italian anarchist, communist, writer and women's rights activist.

Life

Occhipiniti was considered a " grand old lady " of the Italian Anarchafeminism. She was known by her autobiographical book, " A woman from Ragusa ." It appeared in 1957, but remained the book completely ignored until 1976.
