The Mary Ward School (MWS ) is a private middle school and high school for girls Professional in Bad Homburg. The sponsorship of the private school is located since 1999 at the Foundation Mary Ward school. Was named the school after Mary Ward (1585-1645), an English nun and Catholic religious founder. History

Between 1888 and 1890, a guest house called The Three Emperors was built, which later received the name of three imperial court. The Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Aschaffenburg acquired the building in 1893. Three years later, the domestic science school was approved. In this school, 50 internal and 10 external students were taught. As early as 1902, a first extension was built. In the years 1914 to 1918, the school served as auxiliary and home hospital. 1924 was held a political conference between Chancellor Dr. Marx and the Bavarian Prime Minister Eugen Ritter von Knilling in the building of the school. The domestic science school was officially recognized in 1926. Five years later, nannies and Hausgehilfinnenschule was built. The school was affiliated with a housewife class in 1935. Between 1940 and 1944, the boarding school and all kinds of schools had to be closed because the school building was evacuated for a hospital. In the fall of 1945, the school system was resumed. 1952, the school was converted into a two-year vocational school. The objective was the achievement of social GCSEs. General

At the Mary Ward School is taught in small classes. The largest class has 31 students. If possible focus topics across disciplines, for example in Year 7 in Biology the subject eye and in physics the subject look. Once a year, a project week is offered, which deals with extra-curricular themes.

The Mary Ward School maintains contacts with the Loreto College in Brisbane ( Queensland, Australia ), the Gimnazjum nr 1 in Swidnik ( John Paul II) and a school in Tanzania.

The partnership with the school in Australia was launched in December 2001 as a German teacher of the college, the Mary Ward School visited. So since then, frequently, an information exchange between the students from both schools via mail and the Internet. In August 2003, 18 students attended the Mary Ward School from different classes and a teacher the Loreto College. In December of that year the return visit took place. To date, every two years, exchanges take place.

Building

The main building was "Three Kaiserhof " built in 1888-1890 by Johann Molitor, Kirdford, as a hotel. 1894 he sold the house to the Aschaffenburg " English Lady " of the Order of Mary Ward. The large-volume, late classical, easily tuned rural building is a listed building.
