Mariahilfplatz

The Mariahilfplatz is an urban park right of the Isar in Munich city district Au Haidhausen.

Centrally located in the suburb of Au Mariahilfplatz is a well-attended and lively square. Place three times each year, the well-known Auer Dult, one of the great Munich festivals instead.

Dominating the square of the neo-Gothic Mariahilfkirche, which is located in the center of the square the square. To the east of the square runs behind the Convent of the Poor School Sisters of the Auer Mühlbach, one of the remaining urban streams Munich. Also on Mariahilfplatz are the District Office Munich, the health department, the Mary Our Lady School, the police station 21 and by 2009 the youth and women's detention center Neudeck.

Traffic

Just south of the square runs the Ohlmüllerstraße that connects the western side of the Isar with the Au and Giesing. Due to the location in the city center parking at the Mariahilfplatz are always in short supply, especially during the Auer Dult.

By public transport the Mariahilfplatz tram line 17 (stop Mariahilfplatz ), the Metrobus 52 (stops Mariahilfplatz, Schweiger street) and the Metro bus to reach 62 ( Schweigerstraße stop ).
