Marianne Ahrne

Marianne Ahrne ( born May 25, 1940 in Lund ) is a Swedish director, writer and novelist.

Life

Ahrne grew up in Falköping and studied literature and drama in the United States. She continued her studies at Lund University and graduating as a Master of Arts. Already on student theater she worked both as an actress and director, played a half year professional theater in Avignon, and taught from 1966 to 1967 French at the University of Umea. From 1967 to 1969 she attended courses directed at the Swedish Film Institute and since the professional works as a director, screenwriter, writer and editor. She was involved in over forty films, including documentaries, television series and feature films. Ahrne wrote all of their own films and adapted Flickan vid stenbänken, most in collaboration with Bertrand Hurault, an actor and director from Avignon.
