Marie-Arlette Carlotti
Marie -Arlette Carlotti ( born January 21, 1952 in Béziers, Hérault ) is a French politician of the Parti Socialiste (PS ), which from 1996 to 2009 Member of the European Parliament and councilor since May 16, 2012 Minister for People with Disabilities is the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health in the cabinet of Prime Minister Jean -Marc Ayrault.

Studies, professional activity and party offices
After schooling Marie -Arlette Carlotti studied law at the University Paul Cézanne Aix -Marseille III and graduated with a Diplôme d' études supérieures spécialisées (DESS ) from. A subsequent post-graduate degree in human resources at the Institut d'administration des entreprises in Aix -en- Provence, she finished with another DESS and took after a working as a manager in the aerospace industry.
Already during her studies she joined in 1970 the Parti Socialiste in as a member and was from 1983 to 2003 Member of the National Council and from 1986 to 1994 a member of the National Bureau of PS, making them part of the senior management committee of the party. MEP and unsuccessful candidates for the National Assembly

After her re-election as a member of the General Council of Bouches -du -Rhône supported them in March 2011 as a member of the electoral alliance of PS, Parti Radical de Gauche ( PRG) and Divers gauche ( DVG ) the re- election of Jean -Noël Guérini President of the General Council. On 16 November 2011 she joined the campaign staff of Hollande and was responsible for the equality of men and women. The allegations against Guérini she described as " very heavy, very serious, very rare for a local politician ."
After the election of François Hollande as President and the appointment of Jean -Marc Ayrault as Prime Minister, she was appointed by that on May 16, 2012 Assistant Secretary of State for people with disabilities in his cabinet and as such social and health minister Marisol Touraine assumed.
In the parliamentary elections in 2012 Marie- Arlette Carlotti candidate in the constituency of Bouches -du -Rhône V again for a seat in the National Assembly.
