Marie-Christine Vergiat

Marie -Christine Vergiat ( born September 23, 1956 in Roanne, Loire ) is a French politician Parti Communiste the français.

Life

Vergiat studied law in France. Since 1983 Vergiat is in the French league for the defense of human and civil rights act. From 1980 to 2005 Vergiat was a member of the Socialist Party. She joined Parti Communiste 2005 to français. Vergiat since 2009 as part of the Front de gauche Members of the European Parliament, where she is a member of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left.

MEP

In the period 2009-2014 is Vergiat member of the Committee on Culture and Education and the Subcommittee on Human Rights. She is also a member of the Delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union. As a deputy she is in the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, in the Delegation to the ACP -EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly and the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean.
