Marie Keyrouz

Marie Keyrouz (* 1963 in Deir -El -Ahmar, at Baalbek, Lebanon ) is a Lebanese singer and sister.

She comes from a Maronite family and is a member of the Congregation of the Melkite woman Order Basiliennes Chouerites. She studied theology at the University of Saint Joseph, Beirut, classical and oriental singing at the University of St. Esprit, Kaslik, as well as at the University of Sorbonne, Paris, where she completed her studies with a doctorate in musicology and anthropology of religion in 1991.

Marie Keyrouz is known as a singer, both oriental as well as western sacred songs. She is the founder and chairman of the International Institute of Sacred singing in Paris.
