Mariekerke, Netherlands

Mariekerke was a town in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It was formed on July 1, 1966 by combining the three municipalities Aagtekerke, Grijpskerke and Meliskerke. Seat of government was in Meliskerke. On January 1, 1997, she was with Domburg, Valkenisse, West Chapel and Veere merged to form the new municipality of Veere. At the time of resolution Mariekerke counted 4,213 inhabitants to 34.66 km ².
