Marietta and Friedrich Torberg Medal

The Marietta and Torberg Medal (until 2002 Torberg Medal ) is awarded at irregular intervals in Vienna by the Jewish Community of personalities and initiatives that have occurred against anti-Semitism, racism and the resurgence of Nazism.

The price

The Marietta and Torberg Medal honors the memory of an important writer, a great humanist and as pugnacious as occasionally umfehdeten fighters against Nazism and Communism or employee of the CIA It is also used Torberg legacy, the memory of those murdered Jewish world, the the face of this city has such a decisive influence. The Marietta and Torberg Medal is awarded to valiant spirits who have campaigned for an open, lively and vibrant democracy in Austria, to personalities that have occurred against the revival of yesterday, against forgetting.
