Mario Landi

Mario Landi ( born October 12, 1920 in Messina, † 18 March 1992 ) was an Italian film director.

Life

Landi attended the " Accademia dell'Arte Drammatica " and closed it in 1944 with a degree in directing from. First he went to the cultural circle " Diogene " in Milan, where he directed numerous classics and new songs. In 1950 he filmed a musical comedy with Luciano Tajoli in the lead role for the cinema, but turned intensively to the then-new medium of television to. For the RAI he was with Mario Ferrero and Daniele D' Anza the first directors; 1955 to 1979 he was responsible with his company for a considerable number of mostly comedies, including Cime tempestose (1956 ), Canne al vento (1958), Questi nostri figli (1967) and Nessuno deve sapere (1973). His last post was 1979 television ad Accade Ankara. A highlight of his television oeuvre represents the series Inchieste del commissario Maigret, whose entire sixteen episodes 1964-1972, he directed and which is still one of the greatest achievements of Italian television.

For the theater staged Landi in his very occasional forays more obscure works that are in marked contrast to the quality of his television work. At the end of his career, two bloodthirsty horror movies.
