Mario Medina

Mario Medina ( born September 2, 1952) is a former Mexican football player whose tribe was in the attacking midfield position.

Life

Association

Mario Medina received his first professional contract in 1972/73 season at Toluca FC, ​​with whom he won the championship in season 1974/75 and in which he stood up to the 1980/81 season under contract. He then moved to the capital to CD Cruz Azul, where he was employed in the 1981/82 season only four times and still ended his active career in the same season.

National

His debut in the dress of the Mexican national team gave Medina in a swept in the U.S. on August 3, 1975 Friendly Match, which was lost to the GDR 0:1. His last international match was held at the unexpected 0-4 defeat against New Zealand on 20 August 1980.

His two international goals scored Medina in November 1979 in games against Peru ( 1-0) and Finland (1:1).

Highlight of his international career was the nomination for the World Cup squad of Mexicans in the Medina but did not play.
