Marius Lăcătuș

Marius Mihai Lăcătuş ( born April 5, 1964 in Braşov ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach.

Career as a player

Club Players

Lăcătuş began his career in 1977 at FC Braşov where he played his first Divizia -A- Game on February 28, 1982 against CS Targoviste. After 45 Premier League matches and 5 goals for Braşov 1983 he moved to Steaua Bucharest, for whom he scored 98 goals in the jersey of the blue - red in 357 games, including 13 already in his first season at Steaua. 1990 Fiorentina was aware of him and brought him $ 1.5 million to Italy. A year later he moved for two years to Real Oviedo, before he returned to Steaua Bucharest, where he played until 1999, and at times was captain of the team. There followed a brief time at FC Naţional Bucharest in the season 1999/2000. Then he ended his active career.

In total he played 414 games in Divizia A and scored 103 goals there. With its tenth national champion in 1998, he took over from the previous record holder Balázs Hoksary who had brought it up in 1936 with his clubs on nine titles.

Career as a coach

After his playing career Lăcătuş began his career as a coach at FC first Naţional Bucharest, where he was replaced by Cosmin Olăroiu in January 2001. He then became an assistant coach Mihai Stoichiţă in the Panamanian national team. Upon his return to Romania, he was first head coach of FC Otelul Galati and Brasov. On 26 February 2004 Lăcătuş stood before a contract with Universitatea Craiova, but was rejected by the fans of the club due to his past at Steaua. He then took over in March 2004, Piatra Neamt Ceahlăul with which he descended into the Divizia B at the end of the season 2003/ 04. On 22 July 2004 Lăcătuş signed a contract as an assistant coach of the Romanian national team. In mid-December 2004, he reached an agreement with Inter Gaz Bucharest from the Divizia B on a commitment the following year. In 2005 Lăcătuş President of Steaua Bucharest was, gave the post but ince after a year, since he preferred to work on the course than in the office. From 27 June 2006 to October 1, 2007, he was manager of UTA Arad, from there he moved on as coach at Steaua Bucharest, where he Massimo Pedrazzini replaced on 28 October 2007. In October 2008, he gave this office after a 3:5 defeat in the Champions League against Olympique Lyon, loosened his successor Dorinel Munteanu but in December 2008 again and remained until May 2009 when Steaua. On 27 September 2010 Lăcătuş was again coach of Steaua Bucharest, on March 7, 2011, he resigned after the 0-3 home defeat against FC Braşov but returned and was replaced by Sorin Cârţu. On January 21, 2012, he was at FCM Târgu Mureş successor Maurizio Trombetta, of which the club had parted the day before. After three games without a win in the second half of the 2011/12 season Lăcătuş was dismissed again on March 18, 2012, and replaced by Ioan Sabău, who had already coached the team in the first round.

Since October 2013 he is in charge Zweitligist CSMS Iaşi.
