Marius Weyers

Marius Weyers (* February 3, 1945 in Johannesburg) is a South African actor. His most famous role is that of " Andrew Steyn " The gods must be crazy (1980).

Life

Marius Weyers is the most famous actor of South Africa. He has appeared in over 100 theatrical productions, received eleven Best Actor awards, including for his solo program REPORT TO at ACADEMY ( Kafka ), has won the International Critics' Prize and was successfully shown in Edinburgh, Israel and Los Angeles. He also is the recipient of the Medal of Honor of the South African Academy of Arts and Sciences for his contributions to the theater.

In his 25-year acting career, Marius has been involved in a number of television productions and over 35 feature films. Among the most famous of the blockbuster counts The Gods Must Be Crazy, for which he received the Best Comedy Actor award from the Charles Chaplin film festivals in Switzerland.

Other international productions in which he has participated are: Richard Attenborough's Gandhi, Farewell to the King with Nick Nolte, Bhopa! Danny Glover ( Director: Morgan Freeman ) and Red Dust starring Hilary Swank. His international film debut was in 1977 in On the Trail of the Tiger with Anthony Quinn.

He had a guest appearance in the series success Golden Girls, in its seventh season ( episode 175 ), he is to be admired as Blanche's lover and thief Derek.
