Mariusz Ziółko

Mariusz Ziolko ( born September 18, 1946 in Hamburg) is a Polish engineer. Since 2005 he is Professor of Automation and Signal Processing Group at AGH Department of Electronics.

Life

Ziolko graduated in 1970 at the Technical University of AGH in Krakow, where he received his doctorate in 1973 and his habilitation in 1990. From the Polish president in 2001, he received the honorary title of professor for technical studies. He was a fellow of the Deutschern Akademischern Exchange Service ( DAAD) at the University of Wuppertal in 2005 and a visiting professor at the Fachhochschuhle St. Pölten / Austria. At AGH Department of Electronics, he has been a professor and director of the research group for digital signal processing. In addition Ziolko is co-author of publications on mathematical optimization models in biology. He was a member of several scientific organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers ( IEEE), Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics ( SIAM ), the European Association for Signal Processing ( EURASIP ) and ISCA and was there for the expert committee of several conferences. In addition, his works have influenced the development of Polish speech recognition technologies.
