Marivan

Marivan ( in Kurdish: Merîwan, Persian مریوان ) is a city in the western Iranian province Kordestān. The population is by extrapolation in 2012 just over 101,000. The majority of the inhabitants are Kurds. Marivan is located near the Iraqi border. To the west of Marivan, the lake is Zarivar, which has a length of 5 km and a width of up to 1.6 km.
