Mark de Vries

Mark de Vries ( born August 24, 1975 in Paramaribo, the Netherlands, now Suriname) is a Dutch- Surinamese football player.

Birth and childhood

Mark de Vries was born in 1975 in Paramaribo, the capital of the former Dutch colony of Suriname. Only three months later, Suriname declared its independence from the Netherlands. Early on, he emigrated with his family to the Netherlands and grew up there as well.

Career

Mark de Vries played in his youth at WGW Den Helder and at HRC. Then he went to the youth department of FC Volendam.

In 1994, he went into their first team second division. 1998 Mark de Vries went abroad and was now playing in the French second division club Chamois Niort. However, it held him there for only one year to return to the Netherlands. At FC Dordrecht he signed a contract. After three years in South Holland Mark de Vries went abroad again. Transfer fee free moving Mark de Vries to the Scottish first division club Heart of Midlothian FC from Edinburg. After two and a half years with the capital club from Scotland Mark de Vries went to the English second division club Leicester City. The transfer fee was in the five -figure range.

Mark de Vries could not prevail there, and went into the winter break of the 2005/06 season on loan back to the Netherlands. For a few months Mark de Vries played for first division club SC Heerenveen. But he could not prevail there and only came to seven inserts. In May 2006 he went back early to Leicester. However, the Foxes awarded him again in the Netherlands. This time, however, to ADO Den Haag. There he admittedly came to 27 inserts, but was loaded. However, he came to two goals.

In May 2007, Mark de Vries was ordered back to Leicester. However, you gave it back. This time, however, within England. Leeds United took him without rental contract.

Mark de Vries left half a year later and was selling Leeds Leicester City for a fee of 60,000 euros back to Scotland. Dundee United now called his new club.

After only half a year, Mark de Vries now returned again to the Netherlands and plays since the SC Cambuur - Leeuwarden.
