Mark Margolis

Mark Margolis (* November 26, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American actor.

Life

After he attended Temple University, Margolis moved to New York, where he also attended the Actors Studio, among others. One of his most famous role is in the movie Scarface as a driver Alberto. Margolis is also known for working with Darren Aronofsky: He is seen in Aronofsky's films Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Black Swan and Noah. Aronofsky wrote the role of Father Avila in the movie The Fountain specifically for Margolis.

More recently, he had several guest roles in various television series. For his recurring role in Breaking Bad as a silent Tio Salamanca, which is confined to a wheelchair, he received a nomination at the 2012 Saturn Awards for Best recurring guest performer. In addition, he was nominated for Emmy Awards in 2012 for Best Guest Actor a Drama Series for the season finale of the fourth season of Breaking Bad.
