Mark McKenzie

Mark C. McKenzie ( born 1957 in Lake City, Minnesota ) is an American composer.

Biography

Mark C. Mckenzie grew up as one of seven children in a musical family in Minnesota. At the age of seven, he learned to play the piano. He studied English literature and music at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire and then moved in 1979 to Los Angeles, where he studied composition at the University of Southern California, among others, Pierre Boulez, Witold Lutoslawski, and Morten Lauridsen. He was honored for his music early on, he received, among others the Norman Cousins ​​Award and the USC Outstanding Doctoral Music Graduate Award.
