Markus Schmidt-Märkl
Markus Schmidt- Märkl (* 1959 in Homburg ) is a German television producer and director.
Life
He took a degree in Theatre Studies at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University in Munich, after graduating in 1984 he got a job as a cameraman at the television studio in Munich. In 1986, a change to the Bavarian television. In 1987 he founded a production company, from 1989 he worked as a director and concept author. Focus of his work are industrially produced series and entertainment formats.
Markus Schmidt- Märkl since the start of the BR series home is at home executive producer and has received the Bavarian Film Prize 2010 for production. In August 2008 he was appointed to the board of PolyScreen production company for film and television, based in Munich. The company was founded as a joint venture of the Munich Constantin Film AG and Hamburg-based Polyphonic film and television company.
He is married, has a daughter and lives in Munich.
