Geography

Markwerben is a registered my deterministic in 2010 and the district town of Weissenfels an der Saale.

History

In a resulting 881-899 Directory of tithing of Hersfeld Monastery Markwerben first mentioned as requiring a tenth place in the frieze Vuirbina field in a document.

An early medieval castle from the 10th century was already abandoned a century later. 1231 the village was first called Marcwirbene. A Siedelhof in place belonged well as Burglehen to the castle Weissenfels.

On 1 January 2010, until then independent municipality Markwerben was incorporated together with the municipalities of Langendorf and Uichteritz in the city White Rock.

The up to their forced annexation in 2010 independent community Markwerben is today a district and a village of the town of Weissenfels within the meaning of § 86 GO LSA. It thus has a Ortschaftsrat and a mayor.

The Ortschaftsrat consists of 10 elected village councils. The mayor belongs to the ex officio Ortschaftsrat and presides.

Mayor has been forced annexation in 2010 Günter Fabig ( CDU). He also serves on the city council of the city of White Rock, where it is a member of the CDU.
