Marmara (newspaper)

Marmara (Armenian Մարմարա, sometimes Nor Marmara - " New Marmara ") is an Armenian- daily newspaper, published since August 31, 1940 in Istanbul, Turkey.

It was founded by the Armenian journalist and foreign correspondent Souren Shamlian as a weekly newspaper, but converted to a daily newspaper of interest due to rain. After Shamlians death in 1951 took over his daughter and her husband, Seta and Bedros Zobyan, the newspaper said. When the Zobyans Istanbul in 1967 left for Canada, they delivered the newspaper Rober Haddeciyan (also known as Robert Haddeler ) as editor, a writer and journalist who has worked for the newspaper.

Marmara is published today six times a week (except Sundays). The Friday edition includes a section on Turkish. The circulation of 2,500 per issue.
