Marouane Chamakh (Arabic مروان الشماخ; born January 10, 1984 in Tonneins, Lot- et- Garonne ) is a Moroccan- French footballer on the position of center forward, who plays for Crystal Palace in the Premier League since August 2013.

Career

In the club

With Bordeaux he won the 2007 French League Cup, the 2008 runner-up and 2009 finally the Ligue 1 In the summer of 2010 Arsenal Chamakh undertook a free transfer. He signed a long term contract. Beginning in January 2013 Chamakh was awarded to the end of season 2012/13 to the Premier League rivals West Ham United. For the 2013/14 season Chamakh moved to the newly promoted Premier League Crystal Palace. He signed a contract until the end of the season.

In the National Team

Chamakh has played 53 times for the Moroccan national football team, and represented his country at the African Cup of Nations 2004 Tunisia, the African Cup of 2006 in Egypt and the African Cup of Nations in Ghana in 2008, the Moroccan national football team was eliminated again in the first round. As a teenager, Chamakh had played a match for the French U-19 national team.
