Marouf al-Bakhit

Maruf al - Bakhit Sulayman (Arabic معروف سليمان البخيت, DMG Ma ʿ ruf al - Sulaimān Baḫīt, Marouf Suleiman al - sometimes Bakhit and Marouf al - Bakheet written; * 1947 in mahis ) was Prime Minister of Jordan. As in 2005, he was commissioned on 1 February 2011 by King Abdullah II with the formation of the Jordanian government and sworn in on February 9th.

Life

Even from 2005 to 2007 he held the office of Prime Minister. Previously he was Ambassador to Israel and national security chief. His focus is to ensure the security and stability of Jordan. For his first term, he was appointed less than three weeks after the bomb attack in Amman in 2005.

Maruf al - Bakhit al - Abadi comes from the root, the second largest in Jordan. In 1964, he joined the army. In 1966 he graduated from the Royal Military College as a Second Lieutenant. In 1999, he retired as a major general of the army. He has held several leadership positions in the army. He represented Jordan at disarmament talks in Madrid.

Even during the peace process from 1999 to 2002 he held leading positions. Then he was in Turkey, then to Israel until 2005, Ambassador. He holds degrees from the University of Jordan, University of Southern California and King's College London.

On October 24, 2011 al - Bakhit was replaced by Aun Shawkat al - Chasauneh as head of government.
