Maroun al-Ras

Marun ar -Ras (Arabic مارون الراس marun ar -Ras ) is a town in southern Lebanon on the border with Israel. It belongs to the administrative district Nabatiye ( Nabataea ). Here is an item of the UNIFIL stationed. The place is located in 911 m altitude on a mountain, which towers over the surrounding area. That is why the place has strategic importance.
