Marquisate of Saluzzo
The Margraviate of Saluzzo Saluzzo with the main town was in Piedmont. It has existed since 1142 and went to the extinction of the count's family, a line of Aleramiden, 1548 to France, which she Piedmont (Savoy) gave on 17 January 1601.
Territory
The Margraviate was on parts of the present-day Piedmont provinces of Cuneo and Turin. Throughout history, parts of the present-day France belonged to the territory, but the heartland lay between the rivers Stura and Po and the Alps.
