Marta Abba

Marta Abba ( born June 25, 1900 in Milan, † June 24, 1988 ibid ) was an Italian actress.

Life

Abba attended acting school of the Accademia dei Filodrammatici city of her birth and debuted in 1922 under director Virgilio Talli in Anton Chekhov's The Seagull. Already in the following year it undertook Luigi Pirandello as first lady for his Teatro d' Arte di Roma, where Abba for years played almost exclusively in his plays and his work gave new strength. The complex relationship of the 58 -year-old author and the 25 -year-old actress is discussed in several books. In 1928 Abba her own acting company with which she performed alongside Pirandello other European authors and for which they undertook directors like Max Reinhardt and Guido Salvini. Also tours at home and abroad, particularly the United States, followed. In January 1938 she married there Severance A. Millikin from the same family of entrepreneurs and took their performances to a modest extent upon their return (1952, after divorcing her husband ) in the home again. Only two times they played in movies.
