Marten Mendez
Marten Augustin Mendez (* August 28, 1916, † 25 August 1994 [ Note 1 ] ) was an American badminton player from San Diego.
Career
Marten Mendez as 1949 was with the American team in the Thomas Cup finals, but lost in the semifinals to eventual winners Malaya. Three years later, the American men's team made it even to the final, subject to there again against Malaya and was runner-up. The ongoing open U.S. Championships won Marten Mendez 1949, 1950 and 1952. He was inducted into the U.S. Badminton Hall of Fame in 1981 and the San Diego Breitbard Hall of Fame in 1967.
