Martin Andermatt ( 2008)

Martin Andermatt ( born November 21, 1961 in Baar ) is a former Swiss football player and current coach. He has also stood in 2013 at AC Bellinzona under contract.

Playing career

As a player he played for SC train, FC Baar FC Emmen bridge, FC Wettingen, Grasshopper Club Zurich and FC Basel. With Grasshopper Zurich him reach league and cup. At that time he also had a regular place in the Swiss national football team.

Coaching career

His coaching career began in the Swiss football club FC Emmen Bridge, where he was player-manager from 1995 to 1997. He then moved for a season for FC Winterthur. In the season 1998/99 he worked at FC Baden, before he moved to SSV Ulm 1846 on 31 March 1999. With Ulm he rose in 1999 to the German Soccer Bundesliga, then descending again in the Second Bundesliga the following season. He was released on 19 September 2000. Next coach station was on June 1, 2001 to March 8, 2002 also in the second division Eintracht Frankfurt. Upon termination in Frankfurt, he left in 2002 for one season back in Switzerland for FC Wil.

With the change to FC Vaduz 2003 Andermatt was also coach of the national football team of Liechtenstein. Andermatt celebrated with the national team in the Principality of Liechtenstein unexpected success: a 2-2 draw against Portugal and a little later a 4-0 win in Luxembourg. On the other hand, there was in April 2004, a 0-1 defeat against San Marino - whose only international match ever win.

After the Vaduz in the season 2004/ 05 a long time the Challenge League spearheaded and slid down in May 2005 with four laps after a small crisis in the second place, Andermatt was dismissed. But he remained coach of Liechtenstein until he took over as coach at the Young Boys Berne in October 2006.

At the beginning of the season 2008/2009 Andermatt was after verpatztem start, with just one point from three games, released on 30 July 2008 by the BSC Young Boys. On 12 October 2009 Martin Andermatt stood as coach of FC Aarau. Jeff Saibene had previously after 12 rounds and only 5 points awarded his position clear. On 23 May 2011 Andermatt took over for the last season game as coach in the relegation AC Bellinzona. He was released at the AC Bellinzona on May 28, 2012, as the rise was missed. End of December 2012 it was announced his return and he was given a contract until the end of the season. This was not renewed.

Andermatt has as a coach the UEFA Pro license. This trained primary school teachers are ascribed special strengths such as discipline and perseverance, but also psychological subtlety in dealing with "difficult " players in the Swiss media. Andermatt is married and has two sons and a daughter.
