Martin Brauß

Martin Brauss (* 1958 in Mannheim ) is a German pianist, conductor, music theorist and university professor.

Brauss was born in Mannheim. He studied music, German literature and philosophy, first in Heidelberg and Mannheim, then in Hanover as well as conducting in Berlin. From 1985 to 1991 he was conductor of the Youth Symphony Orchestra Hannover. In addition, he was from 1987 to 1992, among other concert dramaturge at the Lower Saxony Hannover State Opera and ran from 1989 to 1998 the Hanover Oratorienchor. In 1992 he was appointed professor of music theory at the University of Music and Theatre in Hanover. Since 2002 he has taught opera and conducting.

Brauss has worked as an accompanist and played a series of radio and recordings.

His daughter Elizabeth born in 1995 Brauss is a junior student at the Institute for Early Intervention musically gifted (IFF ) at the University of Music and Theatre in Hanover.
