Martin Burkert

Martin Burkert ( born October 14, 1964 in Würzburg ) is a German politician ( SPD).

Life and career

Martin Burkert lives in Nuremberg since the age of four. He is married and has two children.

After qualifying CSE 1980 Burkert began training in the middle not technical service at the German Federal Railroad and worked here as a civil servant since 1983. From 1987 to 1988 he completed military service. From 1988, Burkert was exempted main youth and trainee representatives at the German Federal Railroad in Frankfurt / Main, transferring in 1990 as a union secretary for trade union of railway workers in Germany ( 2000-2010: Transnet ). Since 24 November 2008, he was a member of the five-member Executive Council of Transnet. After the merger of Transnet with the Transport Workers Union GDBA for Railway and Transport union (ECG) on 1 December 2010, he was also a member of its six-member Executive Board.

Party

Burkert is a member of the SPD Association for Workers' Questions ( depreciation ) since 1985 and member of the SPD since 1986. He was from 1997 to 2004 Chairman of the SPD local association Nuremberg - brick. From 1998 to 2007 Martin Burkert was chairman of the depreciation operations group "web" in Bavaria. From 2002 to 2005 Burkert was a member of the city council of Nuremberg, and from 2003 to 2009 the board of the SPD sub-district of Nuremberg. From 2000 to 2009, Burkert member of the national board of the Association for Workers' Questions ( depreciation ) of the SPD. Since 2009 he has been Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee railroad depreciation operation group. Since May 2013, is deputy chairman of the BayernSPD.

Member of Parliament

Since 2005 he is member of the German Bundestag since 2014 and Chairman of the Committee on Transport and digital infrastructure. Since January 2006, Martin Burkert railway commissioner of the SPD Parliamentary Group, in February 2010 Speaker of the National Group of Bavaria and since January 2014 a member of the extended board of the SPD parliamentary group.

Martin Burkert has moved over the national list Bavaria in the Bundestag. His constituency is Nürnberg-Süd.
