Martin Pröll

Martin Pröll ( born March 21, 1981 in Freistadt) is a former Austrian obstacle and long distance runners.

2002, 2004 and 2005, he was Austrian champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. At the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002, he finished seventh. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was eliminated in the semifinals. In 2005 he scored with 8:13,74 min his best time in this discipline, and at the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006, he was ninth.

Even in long-distance running he has to have success. In 2003 he was Austrian champion in the 5000m and 2006 over 5000 m and 10,000 m. In 2007 he was second in the Lucerne City Run and national champion in cross-country running ( short haul ), on a 10 - km road race and half marathon (third place overall at the same time the half marathon competition of the Wachau- marathon ). His half-marathon personal best of 1:04:32 hours he put up at the road race world championships in 2007, when he finished in 61st place. In 2008, he surprisingly won in a time of 28:46 minutes the Paderborn Easter Run over 10 km. He also won the 2008 Austrian Cross Country Championship over the short distance and also the Austrian indoor championship over 3 km. 2010 won Pröll with two and a half minutes ahead of the Austrian state championship in the 10,000 meter race.

In March 2009, Pröll finished working with the sports manager Stefan Matschiner after taken against this investigation for doping. These were triggered by statements of the triathlete Lisa Hütthaler.

The 1.77 m wide Pröll is a freelance photographer today.
