Martin Ručinský

Ručínský Martin ( born March 11, 1971 in Most, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Litvinov BENZINA since October 2010.

Career

As a junior he played for the CHZ Litvinov, where he also began his professional career. After a very good performance at the Junior World Cup he was selected in the first round by the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL Entry Draft in 1991 as 20.

He moved immediately to North America, but with the Oilers, he was used almost exclusively in the American Hockey League farm team at the Cape Breton Oilers. After only two NHL bets you already gave it off in the 1991/92 season for goalie Ron Tugnutt to the Quebec Nordiques. Here he played until the end of the season mostly in the AHL at the Halifax Citadel. In the following season 1992/93 he was able to fight for a regular place.

His first World Cup at senior level, he played in 1994. A year later, the start of the NHL was delayed us he bridged this time in his home when CHZ Litvinov. At season's end, he returned to Quebec. When the Nordiques moved to Denver he came up with the Colorado Avalanche. But before the team he has won the Stanley Cup delivered to the Montréal Canadiens. With him, Andrei Kovalenko and Jocelyn Thibault went to Montreal to Mike Keane but mainly to get Patrick Roy to Denver.

In Montreal, he played in a series with Valeri Bure and Vincent Damphousse and brought it in the remaining 56 games to 60 points. Another highlight of his career was winning the title at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. The following year, he won with the Czech team his first world title.

After he won the world title in 2001 for the second time with the Czech national ice hockey team, the Canadiens gave him shortly after the start of the 2001/02 season including for Donald Audette to the Dallas Stars from. Soon after the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, who brought a medal for him, his journey continued to the New York Rangers. He finished the season there, after his contract expired. Without a contract, he started the next season in his home country, but in October he agreed to end of October 2002 with the St. Louis Blues. The 2003/04 season he began again with the Rangers, and this time he was released end of the season. The Vancouver Canucks were the target this time.

After the season the league went on strike. Ručínský spent the break back in his home Litvinov. For the third time he won in 2005 with the national team to the world title.

After the strike was over, he returned for the third time to the Rangers back. The 2005/06 season he could also end on Broadway this time. At the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006 he won the bronze medal with the Czech national team.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2006, he signed a contract with the St. Louis Blues, where he has been active for two seasons before moving to HC Sparta Prague in July 2008. In October 2010 he left Sparta Prague after his team had started the season very poorly. A week later he was obliged by his club from Litvinov.
