Martos

The town of Martos is located in the province of Jaén in the autonomous region of Andalusia in southern Spain, on the western tip of the Sierra Jabalcuz.

With 24,585 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) Martos is the fifth largest city in the province. Economic priorities are agriculture and plastics processing. Martos is one of the largest oil producers in the world.

There is a partnership with the Italian community Cellamare in Puglia.

In ancient times the city Tucci or Colonia Augusta Gemella Tuccitana was called.
