Mary Gardiner

Mary Gardiner is an Australian programmer and Webaktivistin. Special attention has received her commitment to women in the net culture as well as in the application of open systems and software such as Linux.

Gardiner conducts named after Ada Lovelace Ada Initiative, a non-profit organization which aims to achieve an increased participation of women in Open Source development and appropriate technology and cultural production.

They belonged to the board of Linux Australia until September 2011.

Networking

Gardiner won the Australian Women and IT network AussieChix co-founded what later became known as Oceania Women of Open Tech. She was now also a project manager at LinuxChix and is committed to social standards and norms that interfere with the success of women in Open Source development.

Gardiner has used accordingly at conferences for guidelines on harassment freedom.

In 2011 she won the Rusty Wrench Award for her contributions to Linux in Australia.
