Mary Sweeney

Mary Sweeney ( born January 1, 1953 in Madison, Wisconsin) is an American film producer, editor and director. Sweeney has worked primarily with the American director David Lynch.

Among other things, she worked as an editor and producer at the movies Lost Highway, The Straight Story, Mulholland Drive - involved road of darkness and the Inland Empire.

Sweeney and Lynch were married in May 2006, but the marriage was divorced after only five weeks. The two have a son, Riley, who was born in 1992.

Her directorial debut was with the eight-minute short film In the Eye Abides the Heart, which was seen in 2006 in the short film competition of the 63rd International Film Festival of Venice. Sweeney presented a pair of lovers in different times in the forefront of the black and white film, which works without any dialogs. Her second film as a director is the feature film Baraboo (2008 /2009).
