Mas Selamat bin Kastari

Mas Selamat bin Kastari ( born January 23, 1961) was for more than a year, one of Singapore's most wanted fugitives. He escaped from prison on 27 February 2008. In Singapore was his quest to be the largest manhunt in the country's history. It was only on April 1, 2009, he was caught in Johor Bahru in Malaysia.

Life

In January 2006, Mas Selamat was arrested by Indonesian anti-terror units in Java and shipped to Singapore. He was accused to blow up the Singapore airport and according to the Singaporean police Mas Selamat planned to carry out the attack with an aircraft. Since then, he sits in custody - until the outbreak from 2008 to 2009 - and can be held indefinitely by Singaporean law without a warrant.
