Masa Israel Journey

Masa Israel Journey ( or Masa Israel) is an Israeli organization that invites worldwide Jewish youth to Israel to strengthen their connection to this country. MASA offers degree programs and layout study programs for young adults aged 18 to 30 years. The programs take between five and 12 months. Participants will have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship. Since its founding in 2003, more than 20,000 people have participated in the programs, including more than 9,300 participants from over 50 countries alone in the 2009-2010 school year. The objective of the organization is to invite every year 20,000 young adults each semester and year program.

History

Following the idea of Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon Masa Israel was officially established as a joint project of the Israeli government and the Jewish Agency in 2004. Masa is managed by a 16 member governing body comprehensive, eight representatives of the Government of Israel and eight representatives of the Jewish Agency. The governing body is amplified by the Secretary of the Israeli Cabinet and the Director General of the Education Department of the Jewish Agency. Financing

Half of the financing of the Masa Israel program comes from the Government of Israel.
