Masahiro Shinoda

Masahiro Shinoda (Japanese筱 田 正浩, Shinoda Masahiro, born March 9, 1931 in Gifu, Gifu Prefecture) is a Japanese film director and screenwriter.

Shinoda began his career with the film company Shochiku as an assistant to Yasujirō Ozu. Together with this, he was director of the company and in addition to directors such as Susumu Hani, Hiroshi Teshigahara, Koreyoshi Kurahara, Yasuzo Masumura, Nagisa Oshima, Shohei Imamura Yoshishige Yoshida and founder of the Japanese New Wave ( Noberu bagu ). From 1965 he headed the independent film production company Hyōgensha.
