Masai Ujiri

Masai Ujiri (born 1970 in Nigeria ) is the general manager of the Toronto Raptors in the U.S. National Basketball Association (NBA). He is the first general manager in American Major League sports, who was born in Africa.

Ujiri is the son of a hospital administrator. Before he turned to basketball, he played mostly football. His model was Hakeem Olajuwon, a born in Nigeria NBA star. He played college basketball at Bismarck State College, then moved to Montana State University Billings, but left this school after one semester. After that, he played basketball for six years in Europe before he became the unpaid Scout of the Orlando Magic. Next season, the Denver Nuggets have offered him a paid Scout position, which he accepted. He remained there for four years and then moved to Toronto at the Raptors. In 2010 he returned to Denver and took the current position.
