Mascarenhas (footballer)

Mascarenhas ( born April 28, 1937 in Vila Salazar, Angola, António da Silva Domingos actually ) is a former Portuguese football player.

Mascarenhas came in 1962 by FC Barreirense to Sporting Lisbon. With Sporting, he won the Portuguese Cup in 1963 and a year later the European Cup Winners' Cup. Mascarenhas was top scorer with eleven goals and thus played a major role in this success. He scored it with a 16:1 victory over Cypriot representatives APOEL Nicosia Six of these eleven goals. He still holds the record for the most goals scored in a European match. 1965 Mascarenhas left the Green-Whites again, by this time he had scored 80 goals in 107 games.
