Mashava

Mashava ( alternative name Bere or Mashava Mines, formerly Mashaba ) is a mining town in 980 meters height in the province of Masvingo in Zimbabwe.

The majority of the population belongs to the tribe of Karanga, a subgroup of the Shona.

Economy

In the surrounding areas of the city especially gold is produced in four mines, Shabani, Temeraire, gaths and King, but also mined asbestos. Furthermore, soap stone is broken, the, now more in the souvenir shop plays an important role in the art of the Shona.
