Maskinen

Maskinen ( Swedish for the machine) Founded in 2007, electro and hip- hop group from Sweden. The group consists of rappers Herbert " Afasi " Munkhammar and musician Frej Larsson of the Swedish Bitpop lineup Slagsmålsklubben.

Biography

On 4 November 2007, the first single of the band appeared with the provocative title Alla som inte dansar ( är våldtäktsmän ), the German translation in all who do not dance, rapists are means. Was released the single on the Swedish label Pope Records. The release of the song was followed by an extensive debate in Sweden. January 9, 2008 Maskinen and Pope Records were sued by a 32- year-old man, because this felt attacked by the title personally. The lawsuit was later dropped because the text does not legally prohibited content.

Until the appearance of the second single Segertåget ( Swedish for the triumph ) was the Swedish rapper Hans Oskar " Kihlen " Linnros part of the group, but they left after publication.

The debut album Boys II Men was released on 18 November 2008.

The band played from the founding year 2007 to 2010 almost exclusively in Sweden. Your first major appearance in Germany they had on 17 July 2010 at the Melt Festival.

The title refers to the unexpected success of the Frej Larsson and Herbert Munkhammar with Maskinen had and to the large demand on the follow-up album to Boys II Men, to which the fans had to wait still more than two years.

Style

Music

The band Maskinen mixes electronic music with hip-hop and thereby created a style that is similar to the German band Deichkind. Through the collaborations on their debut album Boys II Men with Brazilian musicians such as Bonde Do Role ( for the song flow ball ) and Marina Gasolina ( vapen for the song Dansa med) can be seen even clear influences from the Rio Funk in some songs.

Texts

The lyrics of the band are mainly written in Swedish. The songs that are developed in cooperation with Brazilian musicians, included choruses and vocal parts on Brazilian Portuguese. The song also has a Segertåget Portuguese chorus, whose text is taken from a song by the band Brazilian Axé Bahia. On the second album Framgång & Efterfrågan all texts are continuous in Swedish.
