Massimiliano Frani

Massimiliano Frani ( born January 10, 1967 in Venice, Italy ) is an Italian pianist, composer and music educator. He is the founder of the project MET - Music Education Therapy ™ and director of the Center Armoniæ Centro Internazionale di Musica e Cultura. Frani lives in Venice.

Training

Frani began his piano studies at the Conservatory Benedetto Marcello in Venice. There he graduated with honors. After studying literature and theater studies at the Ca ' Foscari University of Venice, he received a master's and doctorate degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in the fields of music, piano and pedagogy.

Career

Since his debut at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice Frani performed as a soloist and with chamber music ensembles and orchestras in Italy, the USA, Japan, Germany, Canada and Hungary. Critics speak of his concerts as " high-class listening experience " with " spiritual resonance". In addition, Frani conducted worldwide Orchestra and collaborated with many renowned musicians. The most famous include Martin Jones, Radoslav Kvapil, Kemal Gekiz and Einar Steen- Nøkleberg. Together with Paul Pollei, Jeffrey Shumway and Mack Wilberg occurs Frani than American Piano Quartet.

Frani participated in numerous piano competitions, including the Gina Auer Bach International Piano Competition and the Esther Honen 's International Piano Competition. He won national and international competitions such as the Concorso Nazionale Pianistico Premio Venezia and the Concorso Internazionale di Albenga Pianistico. Since 1994 he is a regular jury member of international piano competitions such as the Gina Auer Bach International Piano Competition, the National Music Teachers Association Competition in Montreal and the Piano Teachers National Association Competition in Tokyo.

Frani was deputy artistic director of the Bach Gina Auer International Piano Foundation and Artistic Director of the Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. He is also the founder of the project MET- Music Education Therapy ™ and director of the Center Armoniæ Centro Internazionale di Musica e Cultura.

Music Education

Frani has taught at several institutions, music colleges and universities, including the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main, the International Piano Academy Lake Como and the ASPEN Education Group. He collaborated with internationally known music educators such as Joseph Banowetz, Edna Golandsky, Lee Kum -Sing and Arie Vardi.

Frani is the founder and director of the project MET- Music Education Therapy ™. Based on music pedagogy, cognitive psychology and neuropsychiatry, MET takes an interdisciplinary approach in music therapy for premature infants.
