History

The company was founded in 1878 by Wilhelm Mast as a vinegar factory and wine shop in Wolfenbüttel. His son Curt Mast 1934 invented the recipe for the herbal liqueur Jägermeister and brought him in 1935 for the first time on the market. After the death of Curt Mast in 1970 his daughter Anne Marie Findel - Mast became the main shareholder of the company. In 2008 she passed on their shares within the family. Anne Marie Findel - Mast died in January 2010.
