Mastrils

Mastrils was until 31 December 2011, a municipality in the district, five villages, District Landquart the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

On May 15, 2011, the inhabitants of Igis and Mastrils agreed to a merger of their communities. The new municipality was formed on the country Quart 1 January 2012.

Geography

Mastrils is 13 km (air line) north of Chur on the left side of the Rhine, opposite the mouth of the country Quart. The territory extends from the hard foot of the slope extending Rhine up to the ridge of the Calandamassiv, the close of the Zweienchopfs with 1'825 m above sea level. M. highest point of the municipality marks and north across Chimmispitz (1814 m) and Pizalun ( 1,473 m ) gradually decreases. The houses are scattered on the hillside, a distinct town center there is not. Directly on the Rhine, the district is Isla (554 m), the remaining settlements are mostly close to the road that leads up from the Tardisbrücke in several hairpin bends Tretsch ( 690 m). Above has got a zone of mountain pastures.

In 1997, 23.9 % of the municipality were used for agriculture, the forest took 68.8 %, which settlements 2.5 %. As unproductive were 4.9 %.

Mastrils borders Maienfeld, Zizers, Untervaz and st.- Gallic communities and Ragaz Bad Ragaz.

Basis of the emblem is the community of Seal in 1600. The design refers to the saint of the former parish church of Mastrils in Zizers, Saint Peter. The colors correspond to those of the church covenant.

History

An independent community formed Mastrils only since 1854. Previously, the settlement belonged to the Ponstrilserberg how the 1318 stated that the earlier form of the name was to Zizers. Like the mother church is mixed denominational since the 17th century the place. The two churches were consecrated in 1614 or 1688.

Economy

Mastrils has developed in the 20th century for commuters living community. At the site itself (as of 2000-01 ) were in the agriculture and forestry 40 people employed in the commercial sector and the services sector 16 23 There is a school, a Protestant and Catholic churches, three restaurants, a nursing home, a travel agency, a ski lift, a guest house and other small industrial facilities.

Traffic

The former municipality is connected with a postal bus to the country Quart station to the network of public transport.
